Civil Rights - Will work to amend into the U.S. Constitution with shortened versions of the main acts of the civil rights movement. Specifically, acts prohibiting discrimination based on race, nationality, and religion when voting, hiring, selling, lending, and renting. Currently, civil rights are only guaranteed by federal law, and much of the federal government's ability is based upon supreme court decisions.
Women's Right to Run for President - Will work to amend the U.S. Constitution, specifically portions that refer to the
President as “he” or “his” and replace these phrases with “the President”, or “they” etc.
For example, the constitution currently states: “He shall hold his office during the term of four years, and, together with the vice President, chosen for the same term, be elected, as follows.”
An amended version may appear as follows: “The President shall hold office for a term of four years, and, together with the vice President, chosen for the same term, be elected, as follows.”
Another example of the current version: “Before he enter on the execution of his office, he shall take the following oath or affirmation.”
An amended version may appear as follows: “Before the President enters office, they shall take the following oath or affirmation.”
Federal Jurisdiction - Will work to amend the U.S. Constitution so the federal government has jurisdiction over all areas of law. This will have benefits in several ways. Law enforcement will be stricter and without prejudice. Oftentimes, at the local level there are more extreme political biases, which may lead to corruption, bribery, and intimidation of law enforcement and witnesses. With Federal jurisdiction, the federal government can step in and investigate, arrest, and overturn court decisions if necessary. The business environment becomes simpler as laws become consistent throughout the states. With federal laws presiding over state laws, companies won't have to learn new laws for each state they do business in. Federal jurisdiction in the short term can be extended to specific areas, such as taxes, if state governments don't feel comfortable giving up all jurisdiction.
Abortions - Making abortions illegal in the Constitution will eliminate the legal issue at the state and federal level.
Sex Crime - Different sex crimes can be made illegal in the Constitution, such as sex outside of marriage, divorces without a court order, homosexuality, sex under a certain age, and any forced sexual activities, such as rape, child molestation, sexual assault, etc. This will ensure the constitutional enforcement of these crimes. These crimes are important to enforce due to the suffering they cause. The illegality of sex outside of marriage is important in order to ensure parents take care of their children, as well as to create unity in society. Sex outside of marriage also often leads to forced sex due to lack of discipline, addiction, and substance abuse. It can also lead to conflicts which create homicides, suicides, homelessness, and drug addiction. Divorces is the same thing as sex outside of marriage, so naturally should be made illegal as well. In certain situations, courts may permit divorces, such as adultery, but courts should ensure there is a consequence for the adultery. If couples need to live separately temporarily, this could be permissible.
Birth Control - Any mutilation of the reproductive organs so the reproductive features no longer function, through surgery, ingestion/injection of chemicals, or any other means, will be made illegal.
Death penalty - Will work to make the death penalty illegal. Once someone has been arrested and a situation is under control, killing someone is no longer necessary. There is no evidence that death penalty has impact on homicide rates. Countries and states that use and don't use the death penalty have varying homicide rates with no real pattern. Homicide rates are generally more correlated with income inequality, single-parent families, and drug trade.
Three Strikes Law - Any sort of laws automatically permanently incarcerating people will be prohibited. Crimes must be judged one at a time.
Veto Power - Will amend the constitution so the President has unlimited time to veto a bill. At the end of a term, all bills that haven't been signed will automatically be vetoed.
